What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy and is very different from traditional counselling. It is research-based psychotherapy that incorporates Hypnosis to bring about therapeutic change. We do this through relaxation and visualisation to create a shift in perspective to a positive future, rather than focusing on the negative aspects of the past.
There are numerous different types of talking therapies aimed at helping people overcome stress or emotional problems. However, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is exactly that, solution-focused, rather than analysing problems of the past. There will be no need to relive or explain distressing memories or past, embarrassing problems. We do not use analytical work, our focus on creating a positive preferred future.
Hypnotherapy Trowbridge is unique in that our Hypnotherapists use hypnotherapy with a blend of EFT techniques to help deal with stressful situations as and when they arise. This is particularly useful with cravings such as food and smoking, or fears and phobias.
Hypnosis is very relaxing, but it is not sleeping. It is a trance-like state and helps to reduce anxiety and calm the mind. It is a normal and natural method of altering someone's state of consciousness. We go in and out of trance everyday examples, including times when you are driving or watching TV. You will be relaxed and in full control at all times. It is likely that you may hear some or all of what is said during the session. In this respect, it is very similar to daydreaming.
During the therapy sessions, the client sets their own realistic goals, which enables them to take steps forwards to a brighter, happier place.
